The court's newest magician started her job off with quite a few raised eyebrows. Her shoes were fancy. And loud. Never concerned with how much noise she made, she instead worried for the first few days that perhaps her ankle boots were too flashy. She never understood why so many of her colleagues were obsessed with ornate designs. That is, until she saw these shoes. She fell in love as soon as she saw them, and thought she earned a gift to herself for both managing to pass her apprenticeship and land one of her dream jobs.
As far as the commoners were concerned, the girl clearly never had a single hard day's work. And she must not intend to change that with her impractical choice of footwear. She'd just end up like the rest of the court magicians – moving on to bigger, wealthier cities — or disappearing.
